Last Thursday, my mom and I threw a baby shower for my best friend from my home town, Boise, Idaho. She’s having her second child, and this time it’s a BOY!
I had so much fun designing signs, invitations, games with the theme of navy blue/tan colors. It’s a perfect, fun, and modern theme for a baby boy. You can get your FREE printable at the bottom of the post.
Friends and families have been kind to me by letting me practice my designing skills for their invitations. I’m most happy when I get to play around with the cute fonts. 🙂 I played around with the invitation a lot and I ended up with the pennant banner and it used actual ones for the baby shower too. Check out my other invitation designs.
My mom and I had fun decorating the envelopes. She got the custom address stamp from Jane.com, I crossed out the address for privacy reasons so sorry you can’t see the cute address stamp.
Then we got the ‘a baby fills our hearts with love’ stamp and washi tape from Michael’s using their 40% coupon.

My mom and I thought the saying was so cute so I recreated the stamp into a decoration sign.
I created three banners to put up in the kitchen and the main party area. You can find the templates here.
We did an ice cream bar and it turned out to be really fun! We did these flavors: vanilla, chocolate, and cookies n’ cream. I should’ve gotten more pictures of the toppings and the sign on the table. For drinks, we did watermelon lemonade and water. We also prepared a veggie tray for those who didn’t want ice cream.
Personally, I think less the games, the better so the guests can have time to get food and chat with each other. Get your free printables down at the bottom of the post.
The two games we did at this baby shower are:
Who knows Momma the Best
This is a fun, easy, quick game to put the spotlight on the momma-to-be.
How to play this game
The guests write down the answers about the Mommy and get points for each answer they get right. Whoever gets the most points wins a prize.
It’s a little awkward when you’re shouting out to see who’s the gift is from or awwing over the cute outfit by yourself, haha. So this game was a great way to keep the guests engaged during the opening gifts.
How to play this game
The guests write down the gifts they think that the mommy-to-be will receive. Once they get a five in a row, they shout Bingo. We had a basket of at least five prizes for bingos.
What is your favorite theme of a party you have done? I’d love to hear about it!
