I grew up with this tradition: dipping pretzels in chocolate and white chocolate. Yummm. My husband and I revived this tradition using 5 different recipes and sent them out as neighbor gifts. 3 reasons why I love doing this. 1. So easy 2. It’s so yummy that they taste like yummy chocolate candy (or better) 3. Hassle free (no baking, no mixing, etc). Here are five different ways I did with the pretzels
The Famous Rolo Pretzels
This is my most favorite kind of pretzels. One word. Delicious. Just simply delicious. Oh, and easy too. So easy. I got the recipe from the hersey.com
- Rolo Chewy Caramels in Milk Chocolate
Heat oven to 250°F. Line cookie sheet with parchment paper or foil.
Place one pretzel for each pretzel treat desired on prepared sheet. Top each pretzel with one unwrapped ROLO® Chewy Caramel in Milk Chocolate.
Bake 3 to 5 minutes or until caramel piece begins to soften, but not melt. Remove from oven; top with either pecan half or additional pretzel. Cool completely. Put them in the fridge to cool.
Line microwave-safe plate with wax paper.
Place up to 6 pretzels on plate and top each pretzel with one unwrapped ROLO® Chewy Caramel in Milk Chocolate.
Microwave at MEDIUM (50%) 30 seconds or until caramel has softened slightly. If necessary, microwave at MEDIUM an additional 10 seconds.* Carefully slide parchment paper and pretzels onto countertop. Top with either a pecan half or additional pretzel. Put them in the fridge to cool.
*Some caramels are a bit firmer and require additional heating.
The Classic Dipped White Chocolate
- White Chocolate Candy Melt (I got it at Walmart)
- Any other sprinkles you desire to decorate them with *I used green, red, glitter white, and blue sprinkles **Be creative! Like use coconut for Santa beard.
Melt the white chocolate candy melt in the microwave by using defrost for 1 minute. Mix it. Put it back for another 30 seconds. Mix. Repeat until it’s completely melted. Dip the pretzels in the white chocolate melt and decorate it with sprinkles right after before it hardens. When completed, put them in the fridge to cool.
The Drizzled Christmas Pretzels
- Red & Green Candy Melts *I used the drizzle pouch from Walmart
Follow the candy melt instruction for melting. Line up the pretzels all over the parchment paper. Once the green and red candy melt are thoroughly melted, cut the corner of the pouch and drizzle one of the pouch over the pretzels. Then drizzle with the other color when good amount of pretzels are covered with both colors. Chill in the fridge.
- Peanut Butter
- Chocolate chips or Chocolate Candy Melt
Using the defrost setting, melt chocolate in a safe microwavable bowl the microwave for 1 minute. Mix. Put it back in the microwave for 30 seconds. Repeat until it’s completely melted. Spread peanut butter on the pretzels. Then submerge the pretzels in the chocolate. Place them on the parchment sheet and transfer them in the fridge to chill.
Coconut Almond Heaven
- chocolate chip or chocolate candy melts
Using the defrost setting, melt chocolate in a safe microwavable bowl the microwave for 1 minute. Mix. Put it back in the microwave for 30 seconds. Repeat until it’s completely melted. Dip the pretzel in chocolate then place it on the prepared sheet. Sprinkle the coconut and then top it with almonds. Chill in fridge.
I used these pretzels for neighbor gifts. I put them in the little cute Christmas treat bags along with two packages of hot chocolate and caramel popcorn. Check out my neighbor Christmas treat bags post to see how to make it look cute and ready to deliver to your neighbors and friends. Merry Christmas y’all!
